Dear Friends and Families, Thank you so much for everyone who attended the Spring conferences. I was so impressed that almost every student attended his/her conference this year. Thanks to this, we have been able to really hit the ground running in term 3. This is a great group of kids, and I am so proud of how far they have come-- both individually and together as a group! Here are some exciting things from our classroom: Check out our amazing Amazon Reviews about our read aloud Marshfield Dreams by Ralph Fletcher. The students loved this memoir about a boy growing up with his 8 siblings in Marshfield, MA. We just started Sunny Side Up by Jennifer Holm, and we are loving every second. The students began using Bookopolis which is an amazing resource to track reading, get suggestions for books, recommend books to classmates, etc... we are having fun diving in and getting to know more about this fabulous website. After completing a self strength assessment on Thrively, the students jumped into research for Genius Hour/ Passion Projects. I am really impressed with all of the wonderful thinking I am seeing so far! We can't wait to share our projects with the world! Math- we are progressing through unit 9: Applying Understanding of Division to Divide Fractions. I have been working to spiral all concepts from this year back into our math workshops to make sure students retain mastery. Wish List: with spring allergies and winter colds (thank you very much Mother Nature...), we are in desperate need of Kleenex and paper towels. Thank you! Remember to check our Twitter page for all of the exciting things we are learning each week! Thank you for all of your support! |
